Student Opportunities

The Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences strongly believes that real-life experiences, whether it is working in a research lab, a classroom capstone project, or an internship opportunity, is a critical piece of a student’s educational journey at the University of Utah.

Through programs in the College of Humanities, Science, and Social & Behavioral Science, students can enhance their education through a wide range of hands-on opportunities, including:

  • Each LAS college has a team of student ambassadors to help with outreach events, college activities, and student support.

  • Both the Core program (0-60 credits) and the CAP program (60+ credits) provide research experience and career networking support for science students. https://science.utah.edu/sri/

  • A variety of opportunities locally, Nationally, and Globally to enrich your educational experience and build new skills. https://www.hinckley.utah.edu/internships/

  • Career coaches specialize in working with specific majors and industries and offer personalized guidance. They can help you build your resume, prepare for networking events and job interviews, and more. https://careers.utah.edu/

  • A two‑semester experience (Fall & Spring) where you’ll analyze real organizational challenges and apply classroom concepts to real-world scenarios. https://goff.utah.edu/scholars/

  • Staff senior administrative offices and work on strategic projects designed to help advance the goals of the university, act as student representatives at various university functions and events and attend weekly higher education leadership seminars hosted by executive leaders from the campus and larger community. https://president.utah.edu/presidential-interns/
